Just when you think your life couldn’t get more fucked up…

Posted by Merilyn on July 21, 2009

…at times like these, you walk home, tired of the daily work and discover a note on the door that the locks are changed. Yup, you’ve been away abroad about a month and your cellphone doesn’t work at the current time. So – you basically have nothing else to do than walk back to work and ask for a shelter. And you can’t answer people’s questions about what’s wrong, because you yourself can’t comprehend just yet that you’re even more screwed up than before.

Later…
All I can say now is: PHEW!

After every nervous breakdown there is a celebration with lots and lots of alcohol involved.

Working parallels

Posted by Merilyn on July 19, 2009

Riding a horse is basically like having sex – the only things different are, that you stay on the top from the beginning till  the end and neither one of you don’t have to fake an orgasm. Simple enough. Even the same parts of you hurt/feel sore the day after. And basically both make you feel kind of… Good.

But how do you line a parallel between real-life and anime? That’s the basic thing I’ve been trying to figure out these past few days. On the 31st there’s going to be an anime-party at the Genklubi, but what exactly to do to make everybody feel like they’re in an anime? Cosplay is one thing, but the interior is another…

And furthermore… Is there a parallel-universe in which I can proudly call Chis Martin my godfather? And in which life actually IS good in general, not only by bits between the routine of deep downfalls every now and then? If there is someplace like that then why the hell am I not there?

Look at earth from outer space
Everyone must find the place
Give me time and give me space
Give me real, don’t give me fake

And today’s song of the day is…

Posted by Merilyn on July 16, 2009

Everything I know is wrong
Everything I do it just comes undone
And everything is torn apart
Oh and thats the hardest part

The English get embarrassed almost as easily as the Estonians do.

The times they are (not) a-changing

Posted by Merilyn on July 14, 2009

midnight1

I won’t say the -good- old times are back, but just the old ones. The ones on which you wake up in the morning, walk to work, tickle with some stupid little things you have to get done, go straight from work to the other place where you work… TO work. Where something pisses you off and when the clock strikes midnight, you start drinking (maintaining your professionality, of course), at some point you close the place up and walk home with the MP3-player in one and a can of cider in the other hand.

There you get 3-4 hours (if you’re lucky, then even 4,5 or even 6! hours) of sleep (sometimes often you have nightmares and wake up several times crying – or you do that without the nightmares), wake up with a mild case of a hangover (because you’re too broke to have gotten anything to eat the past day) and make it to work almost an hour late. But no-one ever complains and it works out just fine. And it starts again every bloody morning.

That, my friends, is called routine.

And now all the good kids are messing up…

Posted by Merilyn on July 11, 2009

…It’s just that every time after something like that happens, you get more and more paranoid and cautios and it becomes harder for the others to get through the wall. But when someone special exceeds and you let your guard down, you’ll be just a lot more fucked up every single time.

The pain has a nasty habbit of multiplying by the time.

Well, the festival is over and we managed to get to Copenhagen to Carsten’s place. Which is really kind of outerworldly, because he is really cool and he shows us around the city a lot. For instance, today we went to Cristiania and it was beautiful. We surely must come back sometime. For a longer period of time than the few days we have now. It is nice out here.

Shortly about the festival? Yeah, why not. The last day was kind of amazing. I saw two of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. Deerhoof placed the third after seeing Coldplay – they snatched the best live from Placebo and got the top of the pedestal. Like… How the hell can you pull off a show of that kind of calibre? How good can you be? It was really… Amazing.

Apparently we will not be hitch-hiking back but we will take a plane and a ferry instead. A small blow for my small account, but I guess it is still better off. Now I will even have time to step by home before leaving Tartu for the countryside. And I will be able to deal with some of the stuff with the apartment and other things. At least some of them will be pleasant.

Roskilde vol 2

Posted by Merilyn on July 5, 2009

Everything’s been quite hectic. Yesterday/today at work we got kind of carried away with our laughter. It was weird, that’s why. And of course the guys came by, drunk as hell, and started to piss us off lightly. Nice. Not. But somehow it still reminded me of “the good old times”. Well. Somehow.

Today is the first day of the festival on which the sun doesn’t shine as hot as we’re in hell. Good-good, now we’re making some progress… But the anticipation wether it’s going to rain or not, is also a bit tiresome. There’s only so much time left until the end of the festival and Tormi doesn’t stop wrecking me with his accusations about his to-be-bad-trip whilst hitchhiking home. Nice. As I don’t feel guilty enough. Now the things are just a bit harder than they would be.

But at least in a few hours I’ll see Deerhoof LIVE (in your face, Lennart, I will laugh and enjoy that – muahhahhaahahhaahhhaaaa) and after that I’ll somehow manage to get into the frontpit for Coldplay. Well, that is if I won’t get killed by the peple in line for the Internet… I guess it’s time to call it quits for now.

I kind of miss you all, especially you, A.
